Features
GP&E's Special Wastewater treatment System(GP&E's TR-Unit Series) is a newly complex degradation technique. Compared with conventional advanced oxidation process(AOP), this system completely mineralizes (decomposes) concentrated waste not to produce any secondary non- Degradable by-products and reduces its volume. Also, this system is highly costeffective with high degradation performance.

Treatment of MIXED Wastes in Nuclear Field (II)
Application of GP&E ‘s technology for the treatment of highly-concentrated EDTA and the LSC organic wastes containing RI such as C-14, H-3, which are generated from Nuclear Power Plants.

Combined process with the application of semiconductorcatalysis, ozonolysis, and electrolysis

Electrode : (-) : Pt, TiO2-Ir coated
             (+) : Stainless steel, TiO2, TiO2-Ir coated

 

Typical Results
Figure 1 shows the result of complete degradation of EDTA (C-14 contained) within reaction time of 30 minutes by
GP&E’s process.

- Complete degradation efficiency of highly-concentrated EDTA waste: over 99.9%
- Complete degradation of EDTA and the LSC organic wastes containing RI
- Volume reduction effect process: 5 times or more compared conventional (other) processes
- Radioactivity of treated waste: BKGD(Cs-137, Co-60, etc), average total radioactivity of concentrated
  waste: 6.1 x 10-5 μCi/cc
